Introduction to Heat Shrinkable Insulation Tape

In the late 1990s, Heat Shrinkable Insulation Tape began to be used in the oil and natural gas industry for long-distance transportation of oil and natural gas steel pipe welding anti-corrosion. At the beginning of this century, Heat Shrinkable Insulation Tape was widely used in the long transportation of oil and natural gas steel pipe welding anti-corrosion, urban gas pipe network joint anti-corrosion, heating steel pipe joint anti-corrosion, water pipe joint anti-corrosion and other fields.

Brief introduction of Heat Shrinkable Insulation Tape for oil and gas transmission steel pipes

Anti-corrosion Heat Shrinkable Insulation Tape is a new kind of anti-corrosion material with good performance and easy operation. It is composed of a double layer of base material and hot melt adhesive layer. The base material is a plastic sleeve (sheet) formed by extrusion, radiation crosslinking and stretching of polyethylene raw material. Hot melt adhesive is a kind of special adhesive. It's solid at room temperature. 

Heated molten state can flow, can be coated on the substrate. Good adhesion to metal and plastic. The outer anticorrosion layer of steel pipe is usually three-layer structure (also known as three-layer PE anticorrosion). Contact with steel pipe for anticorrosive paint primer). Hot melt glue in the middle. 

The outermost layer is cross-linked polyethylene. In a few cases, the outer anticorrosion layer of the steel pipe is two-layer (two-layer PE anticorrosion), and the contact with the steel pipe is the sealing hot melt glue, and the outer layer is cross-linked polyethylene. Jacket anticorrosive, is made up of foam jacket cover (inner layer) hot melt glue (middle layer) and base material (outer layer).

General requirements for construction of steel pipe filling

Before filling , the position must be cleaned. Clean up the burr, welding slag, dirt, oil and sundries in and around the ring weld. Use sandblasting or power tools to remove rust.
