During construction, ensure the connection, recovery and strengthening of each component of the cable, such as conductor, insulation layer, shielding layer, lining layer and sheath.
For Heat Shrinkable Termination Kits with rated voltage higher than 6kV, effective measures must be taken to alleviate the concentration of electric field at the shielded end of the cable, such as making stress cones, coated stress belts or stress control tubes.
The additional insulation thickness of the Heat Shrinkable Termination Kit shall not be less than 1.5 times of the cable's factory insulation thickness. The number of layers of the additional insulation heat shrinkable tube shall not be more than two layers for the cable joints of 10kV and below, and shall not be more than three layers for the cable termination kits of 35kV class. The contact between the additional insulation and the insulation of the cable body shall be close.
The Heat Shrinkable Termination Kits structure should consider the extrusion insulation in the operation of longitudinal retraction resulting in internal clearance measures.
The copper shield and armor of the cable on both sides of the termination kits should be connected respectively uninterruptible. The soft copper braided belt should be used to restore the copper shield to ensure contact with each phase of insulation and the outer shield, and the two ends are connected with the cable copper belt.
