Heat shrink tube for corrosion protection

2023-06-15
The heat shrink tube is a new kind of anti-corrosion material for steel pipe weld with good performance and easy operation. It is composed of double layer material of substrate and hot-melt adhesive layer. The base material is a plastic sleeve formed by polyethylene raw material base, radiation crosslinking and stretching. Hot melt adhesive is a special adhesive, solid at room temperature, heated in a molten state can flow, can be coated on the substrate, metal and plastic have good adhesion.

The external anti-corrosion layer of the steel pipe is usually a three-layer structure (also known as three-layer PE anti-corrosion), Contact with the steel pipe is anticorrosive paint "Primer", the middle is hot melt adhesive, the outermost layer is crosslinked polyethylene. In a few cases, the external anti-corrosion layer of the steel pipe is also adopted as two layers (two layer PE anti-corrosion), and the contact with the steel pipe is a sealing hot melt adhesive, and the outer layer is crosslinked polyethylene. Jacket anticorrosion is composed of foam jacket cover (inner layer), hot melt adhesive (middle layer) and substrate "outer layer".

Technical requirements see oil and gas industry standards SY/TO413-2002 "Buried steel pipe polyethylene anti-corrosion layer technical standard", SY/T4054-2003 "Radiation crosslinked polyethylene heat shrinkable belt (sleeve)", SY/TO415-1996 "Buried steel pipe rigid polyurethane foam anti-corrosion insulation layer Technical standard".

In view of the widespread existence of metal corrosion, in order to prevent or slow down the occurrence of metal corrosion, various metal anti-corrosion technologies and processes came into being. The promotion and application of new metal anti-corrosion technology, new materials and new equipment can extend the service life of pipeline equipment, save money and ensure safe production. China's petroleum, chemical, public utilities and other industries. Pipeline perforation due to corrosion up to 20,000 times/year, which mainly occurs at the interface of the steel pipe and the pipeline itself.
