Sealant is a hot melt adhesive or self-adhesive adhesive, heating will flow or melt does not flow during installation, so that the heat shrinkable cable accessories and cables are integrated, after cooling can obtain high mechanical strength, can resist quite high pressure, and can be sealed waterproof; In addition, an iron shell protective layer is designed and installed at the underground connection interface to further increase its mechanical strength, wear resistance and water resistance.

Hot and humid areas, Marine, underground railway, tunnel trenches and other environments are generally favorable for mold growth environment, if the heat shrink product surface mildew first of all is the appearance of the speaker, more importantly, it will damage the performance of the surface, therefore, the heat shrinkable cable accessories are required to have a certain mildew resistance; 

The mildew resistance of the material mainly depends on the outermost material; Therefore, the substrate should be made of synthetic materials instead of natural materials, without additives such as fatty acids that are prone to mildew, and add anti-mildew agents to make the material resist and eliminate mold growth.

In addition, when heat shrink materials are used in underground and oil-immersed cables, it is necessary to consider the oil resistance of the material, the compatibility of the material and its additives with oil molecules, and the oil resistance performance indicators such as the permeability of the material to oil and gas and fog. The oil resistance of rubber and plastic materials has an extremely important relationship with the material itself, the molecular structure of additives, the type and characteristics of oil. 

According to the thermodynamic free energy equation, the closer the solubility parameter values of the two substances are, the easier it is to integrate with each other, so the oil-resistant material formula should choose the substrate, additives and oil solubility parameters of the big difference is better; The oil resistance of the material also depends on how the material is in contact with the oil, whether it is in contact with the gas phase oil molecules or the liquid phase oil molecules.
