General requirements for installation of Elbow Connector

The Installation of Elbow Connector must be operated by specially trained personnel, they must be familiar with the product structure,the installation process and the important dimension. When necessary, the installation time, project name and number to do detailed records, and signed by the installation personnel confirmation, document for future reference.
The installation process of Elbow Connector is only applicable to our company production of PTC/Q-8.7/15-630, PTC/H-8.7/15-630 connector, PTC/QB-8.7/15-630, PTC/HB-8.7/15-630 surge arrester installation. Copper shield and steel armor do insulation partition and lead to ground respectively.
The installation environment of Elbow Connector: The construction site should be clean, dust-free. Relative humidity should be no more than 80%. Ambient temperature should not below 0℃. When the environment temperature, humidity beyond the specified value, you can take measures such as dehumidification or heating before installation.
Cable preparation: Cable must be strictly laid according to the construction standard and connector must be made after the insulation test is qualified.
When press the terminals (ears), pay attention to the plane direction of terminal. It should be parallel to connecting bushing copper plane, to ensure good connection.
When cable go through at the bottom of the electrical equipment from cable trench, it must be entered vertically under the end face of the connecting bushing of electrical equipment, not oblique twisted because oblique twisted cable will twist the bushing. Long time twisting force will damage the seal between the bushing and the electrical equipment enclosure so that SF6 gas leakage, failure or explosion, also can make bushing cracks, leading to high voltage short circuit.
When the installation of Elbow Connector with front and rear connectors, front connector is for large cross-section cable to connect directly on the bushing of electrical equipment, rear connector is for small cross- section to install at the back of front connector.
When the Elbow connector installation is finished, it must be charged indicator first short circuit and grounding when do high voltage commissioning test. If there is surge arrester, need to unload it first, or you will burn out the charged indicator and surge arrester.
Installation key steps of Elbow Connector: 1.Control the size tolerance in Figure 8( mm and mm );
2.At themm to insulation layer end, tensile the semi conductive tape 400% to wrap a step with 13mm wide, 2mm~2.5mm thick(that larger than the cable insulation outside diameter 4 mm to 5 mm).
